Awhile ago, I heard a rumour that ZENN, the Toronto-based electric car manufacturer, was ceasing production. I originally assumed that meant the company was finished. As it turns out, they are just slowing down until battery technology catches up with our automotive demands. But what if it had gone under? Now, it strikes me as [...]
I was talking to a friend of mine about my job hunting strategies, and he suggested I just Google it - so I did. In response, I received a message I was definitely not expecting.
There are many anti-under-construction movements out there on the internet, and I tend to agree with their inspiration. Just look at Google, almost everything they have is in a perpetual state of beta testing and updates, but there are no little animated men holding up caution signs to warn you. Under construction is more-or-less an [...]
I am proposing the following Trope definition for Magnificent Bastard at the trope wiki TVTropes.org. You’ll have to deal with the Wiki formating characters since you’re reading it on my blog.
Two men went into a room; two out of 308 representatives worked out a plan and decided between themselves not to have an election. That is not how minority governments should work. Instead, this is a manifestation of our excessively partisan political system in Canada. Not only are MPs whipped into voting with their party, at the behest of the leader, but now the leader does not even consult those MPs before making his decision.
I feel somewhat accomplished today despite not having really done anything productive. Now [...]
The first state of the nation on Science, Technology, and Innovation was released by the STI Council yesterday, and I am working on an article to express my thoughts on their conclusions. Having studied innovation at the Master’s level at the Science Policy Research Unit in the United Kingdom, I am sure my insights [...]
In World of Warcraft 3.1 they changed the result from a LUA call to UnitAura() from a true/false isMine to a much more detailed UnitId. This is going to create A LOT of flexibility in future addons people. Imagine a grid that can track every hot and tell you which person cast it. Or addons [...]
I’m gettin sick and tired of these wordpress developers putting tags where they don’t belong…
CBC News had a lady named Donna, a radio host from Alberta, on their show around 11:20 today. Donna kept saying that Albertans want their votes to count, they are troubled by the coalition, and some would prefer another election. Well, the people who didn’t vote for the conservatives, the majority of Canadians, also want their votes to count. Removing the per-vote public funding makes voting for a party, in a riding that is locked by another, a complete waste.
